Highly recommended - excellent food and experience We loved this place! Joan is a real character and incredibly knowledgeable. When we walked in, two other customers said to us “we are from cattle country, and this is the best steak we’ve ever had”. What a recommendation! I was worried that the meal wouldn’t live up to the hype, but it did. Joan talked us through the pros and cons of each dish on the menu, and then helped us to taste the steaks, with the mixed grill and notice the different tastes. I never knew that one cut of steak can have different tastes at each end of the cut. Amazing! My mind was absolutely blown. The chips were cut potatoes and the salad had a home made dressing - both of which were tasty. Don’t be in a rush; we were there for 2 hours and it felt like we needed that long to get the whole experience. However, if you’re after a delicious steak, and you’re up for a chat, then you will have a great time. We will definitely be back.

Until I dine in here, I have never been able to appreciate the difference in taste between different cuts. Tenderloin, cube roll, rump and striploin all have subtle different flavour and texture. The owner clearly has passion in steak and very knowledgeable. Highly recommend to give a visit to this hidden gem restaurant.

We had dinner here a few times while grilling my food on the stone, the wine was actually very very tasty. I have never had such a great dinner where everything was perfect. The severs here are just wonderful and have great memories it seems. She recognized that we wanted to sit next to the window and even though it was busy but she did not rush us. She and other staff members made certain that we had everything we needed. Perfect!

Delicious food and wonderful service. I couldn’t even make it all the way through my rice bowl to get to dessert. It’s a good thing we still have a couple more days here; will definitely go back again to eat some steaks again on the stone!

My friend and I went to the Day’s StoneGrill during the restaurantweek.nl aka Diningcity tonight. We had a 4-course Dinner for 28,50 plus drinks. The Day’s is located in a quiet part of the Spuistraat, a long street where you can find all different kinds of restaurants and bars in Amsterdam. The restaurant has a cozy inside and outside area. It is very clean and maintained very well. The restaurant had opened shortly before Corona times and they are doing their very best to make their guests happy. It fits perfectly well for small but also bigger groups (if there wasn’t Corona). The Service is super friendly and attentive. They were explaining the menu very patiently and gave us some time to inspect the drinks menu. We went for a lovely red wine from Spain. Drinks prices are reasonable. We both went for a Steak for the main and were amazed the way it was served. Please see my pictures attached for reference. You get a very hot stone plate to your table and technically grill your meat in front yourself. The meat was 100% fresh and very good and came with light salt/pepper. The only I would’ve wished for was an alternative to fries as the side, e.g a veggie option? The Dessert is the usual variety of ice cream, Poffertjes or a third option which I forgot. Maybe you could make something more individual. All in all, we paid 100 for a two-person 4 course dinner, including drinks and tips which is very reasonable for the quality of the food and friendliness of this restaurant. We will certainly come back soon! Thank you.
